This past Friday marked the 84th anniversary of the death of British composer Frank Bridge. Most famous for being the teacher of Benjamin Britten, Bridge was a truly pivotal figure in the establishment of a distinctly English voice in 20th century instrumental music.

From Barber's famous Adagio and classic masterworks by Mozart, Brahms, and Dvořák to recent compositions by @andrea_casarrubios and @chrisrogersonmusic, back to Copland's majestic and touching Appalachian Spring, beautiful, brilliant music rang through two concert halls on opposite ends of the country - what a great way to close out MCP's summer season!
