Brahms and Dvořák: Unlikely Best Friends
Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvořák are two of the most important and well-known composers of the 19th century. What is less known to audiences that enjoy their music is that they were very close friends, each inspiring the other with their wildly different approaches to composing music. By juxtaposing works from each of their early and later periods, this program tells the story of their friendship and personal lives and how that manifests itself in some of chamber music greatest masterpieces.
