“Breaking New Ground”
The Birth of Three Chamber Music Genres

Each work on this program is representative of its respective composer essentially creating a new genre of chamber music: the string quartet, the piano quintet, and the string quintet.  Through an exploration of these seminal works in the chamber music canon, our goal will be to go back to the root of each of these important vehicles used by MCP and so many other groups to present some of the greatest music evert written.
